NYC Seniors May Qualify For a Rent Freeze

nyc seniors may qualify for rent freeze

In Brooklyn

Did you know that your Senior neighbors, family or friends in Brooklyn and throughout NYC may be eligible for a rent freeze?

Under the “S.C.R.I.E.” Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption program, if their rent goes up the City will pay the landlord the difference.

The program assists seniors from displacement who are unable to afford their current rent. If you own a home, coop or condo you may be eligible too.

Do you know anyone who can benefit from this program? Spread the word.

in Prospect Heights

Grand Army Plaza Arch is closed until 2021 for repairs.

Fallen debris from the The Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Arch forced alliance workers to barricade the area.

The landmark structure will undergo a $9mm restoration. Upon completion locals will be able to enter the Arch for the first time since 2010.

Did you know that the Puppet Museum was the last company to occupy the inside of the space?

in Crown Heights

Crown Heights Tenants seeks court order against landlord named the 17th worst landlord by the city.

Rubin Dukler has 531 HPD violations and 45 DOB violations between his four Crown Heights buildings.

They’re seeking to force the landlord to fix the violations and stop harassing tenants in an effort to coerce them out of their apartments.

Do you know your rights and responsibilities as a tenant?
