If you’ve seen one real estate site you’ve seen them all, and for good reason.
Practically every real estate website you visit offers one way to access properties and rentals.
Companies like Streeteasy decided you only needed one way to find a place to live in Brooklyn.
And while that may be true for some, its not for everyone else.
That’s why we decided to craft an experience suited to how you use the Internet.
Introducing the new CorleyRE.com
I’ll be the first to admit, building a new website wasn’t something I was eager to do.
CorleyRE.com has been a fixture on the Internet since 2004 and had gone through a number of redesigns in 2006, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
However, none of its previous versions ever started with the visitor’s point of view in mind.
Like other sites, we believed you needed “Search” when you arrived at our home page when all you really wanted was a way to sort through and discover the place that compliments your lifestyle.
We focused on 3 areas to help make that possible at CorleyRE.com.
Discovery instead of Search
We got rid of our search bar on the home page because it limited your access to everything available.
But that’s not to say you’re left without the ability to narrow down options.
For instance, if you we’re looking at this 1 Bedroom Apt in Crown Heights, you could discover more 1 Bedroom apartments or everything available in the neighborhood and more using the buttons at the end of the listing.
This offers a search experience without the limitations pre-determined criteria restricts you to.
Full Images instead of Galleries
Practically all real estate sites are clumsy at handling pictures used on one real estate listing.
This deprives visitors from completely viewing each image on their mobile phone when its convenient.
We recognized this problem a while back and it prompted us to revamp CorleyRE.com.
Property photos are important to your research online. It’s critical to how you determine if an opportunity is worth seeing.
Our new listing page design lets you view images with the same ease as your Facebook news feed in full screen view.
Faster Loading Pages
The last thing you want is to wait for a page to load in your mobile phone browser.
Images tend to make pages load slower and practically every real estate site struggles with this problem.
In response, Streeteasy and brokerages like Compass ask you to install their app on your phone so they can deliver a faster experience.
However, you’re paying for that privilege in mobile Data Charges and Data Storage (not to mention the access they’ll have to your data).
We didn’t want to pass the cost of doing business onto you, so we’re hosting our site on a content delivery network that delivers web pages faster than any phone app.
There’s more we could share …
These 3 user benefits were key to a better experience and there are more changes to come.
We hope you explore all we have to offer at the NEW CorleyRE.com and let us know what you think in the comments below.
